Fantasy Makes It More Fun…Especially for Golf!

Crawling out of bed to go to work is hard enough. Crawling out of bed even earlier, and on a weekend, seems like blasphemy, even if I smell bacon. There better be eggs and a hot woman in an apron – only an apron.
Believe it or not, however, there is one Sunday every year when I get up with the sun. How could this anomaly happen? Three words: The British Open.
I live in Arizona, which means the Open Championship comes on TV at 6 a.m. I could DVR it, but …

Fantasy Football Draft Tip – Don’t Forget to Check Scoring Settings

As most of us prepare for the upcoming NFL season and the fantasy football drafts that precede it, I wanted to remind everyone just how important it is to verify your individual league’s fantasy scoring settings.  While the basic fantasy draft process will remain the same regardless of how the players/teams score points, the amount of points awarded for specific achievements can greatly affect the outcome of your fantasy football matchups.
Here are some irregular fantasy scoring settings that you might need to strategize for prior to drafting your fantasy team:

Individual …

After opening night, the Nets are hoping that his contributions will be making a positive impact on the team sooner than later. Fantasy football news from Fantasy Football Daily Tips
The NFL season is approaching fast and its time to solidify your draft strategy. If you go into the draft without a plan, there is a good chance that you will come out with a bad team. Here are some rules to keep in mind as you prepare for winning your fantasy football league.

Don’t chase last years stars – Brady will have a great year, but he won’t break the touchdown record again. Same for Randy Moss. Expect their stats to fall a …

Today was my fantasy football draft, which I had been looking forward to for several weeks.  Unfortunately, I overslept and joined the draft about 5 rounds too late.  With the #4 overall pick and draft position, I was in a pretty good spot to develop a strong fantasy squad for this year.
I’m still pretty confident that I can compete pretty well, but the auto-draft picked a few guys I’m not too excited about.
Here are the fantasy picks that Yahoo picked for me:

Stephen Jackson
Andre Johnson
Brandon Jacobs
Wes Welker
Marvin Harrison
Drew Brees

After a few …

Fantasy football news from Fantasy Football Daily Tips
Scott Engel has written a nice article outlining a strategy for every pick in the first round. Here are his top ideal picks and top alternative picks. Clearly Engel is very high on the QB position with Tom Brady as an ideal #2 and Peyton Manning as an ideal #5. Engel also ranks Steven Jackson over the red hot Adrian Peterson, and drops Westbrook down to #7, even though he was the second highest scoring RB in my league last year. Do you …

Fantasy football news from Fantasy Football Daily Tips
Don’t underestimate the value of a good tight end these days. The top 4 TE’s last year produced a fairly significant point margin over TE’s ranked 7th or lower in scoring. If you can get one of these guys, you have a good opportunity to create weekly matchup problems for your opponents.

Antonio Gates (Chargers) – The perennial top TE barely missed 1000 receiving yards last season and scored 9 TDs.
Jason Witten (Cowboys) – 96 receptions last year. You could easily argue that Witten …

Fantasy football news from Fantasy Football Daily Tips
Tom Brady (New England Patriots) had a record breaking year in 2007 with 50 TD passing, breaking Peyton Manning‘s single season record. If you had him on your team last year, you probably won a lot of games.
This year Brady is ranked as the top fantasy football quarterback by most experts, and will most likely be taken in the first round of most drafts. But is he worthy of such a high pick? Lets look at last years numbers a bit.
During the first …
