There have been reports that Barry Bonds could be returning to MLB after suffering a year in which no team wanted to sign him.  The trial news would definitely help his case, especially if the trial did not interfere w/ the regular season.  6 months from now is September, so the baseball season would nearly be over by the time Bonds even stepped foot into a courtroom on perjury charges.

A team in need of some “buzz” would be dumb not to sign Barry in an effort to boost fan attendance, merchandise sales, etc.  His addition to the lineup (anyone’s) would also be a big benefit, since he’ll draw walks and hit for power (HRs, RBIs).
