Manu Ginobili Returns to the Spurs

Manu Ginobili made his season debut yesterday, chipping in 12 points off the bench to help the San Antonio Spurs defeat the Memphis Grizzlies 94-81. This will be a huge boost to the Spurs who have been without point guard Tony Parker since the first week of the month after an ankle sprain.
“It’s a tremendous boost,” said Spurs center Tim Duncan. “He played well. I think psychologically more than anything, having him on the floor and seeing him move around is going to be great for the team. I know it’s great for me personally because it is good to start seeing our team getting back to full strength.”
In the long run, Parker and Ginobili’s injuries might only strengthen this team, as reserve players have had to play important roles in their absences. Rookie George Hill has scored 20 points or more in the last three games, getting solid amounts of run as the team’s floor leader.
