AZ Cardinals Cut Edgerrin James & 2 Additional Starters

The Arizona Cardinals granted running back Edgerrin James‘ request to be released Tuesday, NFL.com’s Steve Wyche reports, and the team later announced it had cut two other veteran players. Continue reading on NFL.com
Not necessarily “big” news for the Arizona Cardinals considering they drafted “Beanie” Wells in the 1st round of this past weekend’s NFL Draft. They already have Hightower at RB, so adding Wells should give them, at minimum, what they had last year. They still might not get out of the cellar in terms of total rushing yards, but Edgerrin James was overpaid for what the Cardinals need & use.
The cut of James, as well as 2 additional starters (Hood, LeBoy), may also have an impact on the team’s ability to re-up wide receiver Anquan Boldin, who is upset about how much he gets paid compared to Larry Fitzgerald.
Arizona will be fully stocked w/ pretty much the same roster that reached the Super Bowl, but only time will tell if they can repeat the effort and make the playoffs… let’s get in before we start talking about advancing past the 1st round of games.
