Chad Johnson Updates…

Ocho Cinco continues to defy the odds… now he has to PAY for all the “Chad Johnson #85″ jerseys before they’ll print the “Ocho Cinco #85″ jerseys.  From what I’ve heard recently, this doesn’t look like it is going to move forward very quickly (if at all).

Reports this week regarding Chad Johnson continue to get more interesting & bizarre.  The Bengals are playing in Dallas this weekend against the Cowboys and Johnson is spouting his mouth off ahead of the big match-up.  Apparently, Mr. Johnson believes he’s going to score a touchdown (he has 1 so far this year) and run to the giant star at mid-field to kiss it (a la T.O.).  To top it off, Owens is running his mouth this week too, after a subpar performance against the Washington Redskins on Sunday; a game where Owens was involved in 19 plays (running or thrown to).  Apparently, T.O. needs more than 19 touches to “win” games.  Fact of the matter is, he’s never won games when the count, so he should be keeping his mouth shut.

Of course, all of this is just intensifying what shapes to be a game dominated by Dallas.  The Bengals have just looked pathetic at times and are sitting at 0-4 on the young season - virtually out of the NFL playoffs already.

The Cincinnati Bengals will be updating the football jersey of their star wide receiver, Chad Ocho Cinco (formerly Chad Johnson). For those who don’t know (were you sleeping under a rock?), Chad Johnson’s jersey number is #85, which is does not translate to “Ocho Cinco” in Spanish; it translates to 8 and 5, not 85 which is “ochenta y cinco” - thanks for clarification Mike. (Perhaps Chad should take Spanish lessons)

Chad attempted to try and use the nickname on his jersey a few years ago, but the NFL fined him for the act. This time, Johnson legally had his last name changed to “Ocho Cinco”, which enables him to get the name on the back of his Bengals jersey.

It is really a slap in the face to the NFL, because he basically just used a stupid rule against them to get what he wanted in the end. He could really care less what his last name is (on the field), but showcasing the “Ocho Cinco” on the jersey was tantamount to this whole fiasco.

Jock Jerseys will post an update as soon as the official Ocho Cinco jersey is available for purchase. Until then, keep checking back w/ us for other NFL updates and jersey announcements.

While you’re here… Is this move by Chad good or bad? Let us know by leaving a comment.
