The San Diego Chargers tied the game late and scored a decisive touchdown in overtime to push aside the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday night.  While the Colts were the favorite and a lock for some experts to make it to the Super Bowl, it was the Chargers who surprised and won on their home-field.

Much like the Arizona Cardinals earlier in the day, the home team emerged victorious.  MVP Peyton Manning wasn’t enough for Indy, as Darren Sproles scored the winning touchdown in OT.

Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson was in long enough to register 5 carries and a TD, but it was Sproles who helped lead the team to a wild-card victory in San Diego.  Peyton was effective w/ 310 yds and 1 TD, but several late failed possessions sealed the Colts fate.

San Diego has now won 5 consecutive games, including their last 4 regular season games which game them the AFC West division title and wild-card berth.  Despite an finishing w/ an 8-8 record, the Chargers had home-field advantage over the Colts (12-4_… Not exactly a fair system, but the NFL isn’t going to change it anytime soon.  Besides, it would seem that the better team (on this day) won anyway.
