Jay Cutler Traded to Chicago Bears – Broncos Happy
The Denver Broncos on Thursday shipped out a malcontent who had become a cancer for the team. Quarterback Jay Cutler, who (nearly) led the Broncos to the playoffs last year, gets his wish (or not, depending on which day it is), and is traded to the Chicago Bears.
The Denver Broncos announced Thursday that they have agreed to trade quarterback Jay Cutler to the Chicago Bears. Continue reading on NFL.com
The Chicago Bears, a team made for defense and special teams, finally have a shot at a legitimate offense w/ the additional of Jay Cutler. The All-Pro quarterback will instantly make their offense more efficient and a bigger threat all-around.
Fantasy-wise, Cutler keeps his value, although he could see a slight downtrend, because he’ll be missing a dependable running game and Brandon Marshall. Bears wideouts will see an uptick in their fantasy football stats, since Jay Cutler is certainly better than Kyle Orton and Rex Grossman.
The trade involved Cutler and a 5th round pick to the Bears, in exchange for Kyle Orton, two 1st round picks (’09 & 2010) and a 3rd round draft pick this year.
The immediate winner in this deal is the Bears, who get top-notch starting quarterback to lead their football team in a somewhat weak division. Over the long haul, however, I think the Broncos benefit from ditching Cutler and getting 3 solid draft picks out of the deal, as well as a possible starting quarterback in Orton.

Dont forget about Matt Forte when talking about the chicago running attack. I think the bears have a better running game than denver has had in a while. Cutler should do just fine in chicago.
