Patriots’ Laurance Maroney Season Over – Injured Reserve Status

The New England Patriots have put running back Laurence Maroney on injured reserve with a shoulder injury, ending his season.  Continue reading on NFL.com

Bad news for the New England Patriots that Maroney will be out, but I’m sure last night’s drubbing of the Denver Broncos will provide some relief.  Sammie Morris and the other running backs didn’t seem to have a problem against the Broncos defense, so they should be ok for the season.  With Tom Brady already out, there Super Bowl chances are shot – the loss of Maroney shouldn’t make too big of a difference.

Fantasy football owners should be looking at Morris as a possible replacement or search their waiver wires for available running backs.
