Steelers’ Willie Parker Uncertain for This Weekend

The Pittsburgh Steelers will likely be playing without star running back Willie Parker again, even though he’s had several weeks to recover from a sprained knee.  The team has done OK without Parker, but the first few games he was missing, the Steelers sure looked bad on offense.

Big Ben, Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes are still to blame partially for the lapse in offensive scoring, but Parker is the engine that makes Pittsburgh go.  The running game opens up the passing game – not vice versa – the Steelers are a running football team.  Injuries to Parker’s backup have caused even more issues, but the team doesn’t make excuses – they go out and play football each week.

While the Steelers are doing ok without their top threat, fantasy football owners are struggling mightily without one of the 1st round picks (in most FF drafts).  If Willie Parker doesn’t start this week, he’ll likely be back next week.
