As with any news of Brett Favre waffling on retirement does, this makes me ill.  Favre is using his age and ability to retire in order to get released from his existing commitments, because he doesn’t like them any more.  Boo, freakin’ hoo…

The Minnesota Vikings have ended their silence on Brett Favre. President Mark Wilf said Monday that the team is still interested in the supposedly retired quarterback.   Continue reading on NFL.com

Brett to the Packers’ – “release me”.  Within a few months, he goes and signs w/ the Jets.  Everything goes well there for a few months and comes crashing down towards the end of the season.  “I’m outta here” Brett says again, “this time I’m retiring FOR REAL!” (I used the caps cuz he really means it this time).

Here we are only a few months after the release by the Jets and Favre is once again rumored to be “interested”, as are the Vikings who are his potential suitors.

The NFL should institute a new rule prohibiting players, coaches or management from “retiring” more than once.  If you were dumb enough to do it once, we’ll let it slide.  You choose to retire a 2nd time, have fun golfing bitch, cuz you ain’t gettin’ back into this party.  They could call it the “Air Favre” rule, in honor of Michael Jordan and Brett Favre… or the “Eff-’Farv’-ed Up” rule.
