NY Knicks & Amare Stoudemire Winning (For Now)

The New York Knicks have their longest winning streak in nearly a decade, and Amare Stoudemire has the type of streak the franchise hasn’t seen since 1962.
Knick fans…. Enjoy the winning streak and enjoy Amare Stoudemire, because if head coach Mike D’Antoni continues playing his starters over 40 minutes every game you’re in for a tough lesson in NBA basketball.
Developing your bench is a critical aspect of coaching that is required for long-term, sustained success through a grueling 82-game NBA season. Players get hurt, come down w/ illnesses all the …

John Wall Wizards Jersey from NBA’s Opening Night Sells for $7k+

Some loon decided they wanted to buy a John Wall jersey for over $7k from NBA Auctions recently. The auction featured all starting-five rosters from the NBA’s opening night. LeBron James Miami Heat jersey was the highest at auction at approx. $16k, but Wall’s is still somewhat of a surprise considering that he is a rookie and has played limited minutes for the Washington Wizards to-date.
“This is probably why someone chose to pay $7,520 for the privilege of owning a blue Washington Wizards road jersey worn by John Wallnotes, the …

NFL Releases Top Jerseys Sales Counts for 2010

NFLShop.com and the NFL announced the most popular football jerseys of the year (Apr 1 – Oct 31) recently and there are some interesting takeaways from the list. The most frequently purchased jerseys are essentially post-draft sales counts, but the draft started on 4/22 so there is some brief overlap and/or carryover from the Super Bowl & NFL playoffs most likely. Its clear, however, that the NFL Draft has had a large impact on sales as you’ll clearly see w/ the #1 overall player.

2010-11 New York Knicks Preview

Much is expected of the New York Knicks after (settling) on Amare Stoudemire in this year’s free agent swoon. They didn’t get Dwyane Wade, LeBron James or Chris Bosh as they’d hoped, but if the pre-season and the 1st game are any indication, Amare appears to be a solid replacement for the aforementioned targets of NY.  Much of the 2009-10 Knicks roster has been shipped out or left via free agency, so they are one of several teams welcoming quite a few new faces for the 2010-11 NBA season.
Key New …

2010-11 Boston Celtics Preview

The Boston Celtics look to pick-up the 2010-11 season right where they left off in the 2009-10 season… in contention for and/or reaching the NBA Finals. There are many foes that stand in there way (Heat, Magic, age, injuries), but they have put together a strong core of experienced NBA veterans and subs off the bench to contend for the Eastern Conference’s best record.
Key Boston Celtics Players
Paul Pierce
It would be difficult to mention anyone before team captain & the longest tenured Celtic, Paul Pierce. While he may not hold the …

As a die-hard NBA and basketball fan, I am eagerly awaiting the opening of the 2010-11 NBA season. With so much off-season activity and player movement, I can’t wait to get a glimpse of each team in action. I am really hoping to have enough time this year to put together individual team previews, but I’m not sure it’s going to be a reality.

As if last year wasn’t a good enough indicator of how bad Mark Sanchez is at quarterback in New York, the former USC stand-out showcased his great hot-dog eating skills last night… oh wait, that was last year. So what exactly did Sanchez do on Monday Night Football w/ his team trying to make a statement vs. the Baltimore Ravens?
Try 74 total passing yards.
Not in a quarter or a half, in the entire game – minus Ed Reed on the Ravens defense btw. The total is 2nd to last for week 1 …
