The NFL left us this week w/ no shortage of interesting stories and bylines from what was really a great weekend for football fans. Ranging from record setting outings, quarterbacks feuding w/ their coaches or a head coach pulling one of the most boneheaded plays in recent history, the NFL is definitely the hottest discussion in sports this week – Tiger Woods’ indiscretions seem like a thing of the past already.

Allen Iverson‘s return to Philly has been ended due to personal family matters & an ongoing feeling that Iverson isn’t going to suit up again for the 76ers. Â Iverson apparently has a 4-yr child suffering from health issues so it’s no surprise to see him siding w/ the family on this one.
No one knows if we’ve seen the end of Allen Iverson in the NBA, but he’s retired & un-retired once so anything is possible. Â One doesn’t have to look far to see a star athlete who has changed …
Already this year, we’ve seen a slew of great NFL games and inspiring storylines to help us make it through the doldrums of fall & winter… I’m in Arizona, so not so much personally, but I know enough people in colder and more varied climate regions that really having nothing but football to enjoy.
While most of the stories surrounding the NFL right now are positive (e.g. Saints, Colts, Favre, Young), there are some others being dramatized by national/local media analysts and other individuals covering sports that may not have (full) …

We’re now a little more than 2 weeks into the NBA season – most teams have played about 8-9 games to-date. As such, we now have a little bit of an idea of what we might expect to see over the course of the season. In today’s post, I’ll be covering the teams who have jumped out of the gates quickly (some surprisingly, others expected), some of the bigger stories so far and highlight the Top 5 Fantasy Basketball players in their respective position(s).
One thing is clear right now – …
The last unsigned 1st round pick of the 2009 NFL Draft, wide receiver Michael Crabtree, has officially signed w/ the San Francisco 49ers. Off to a 3-1 start and leading the NFC West, the 49ers were actually in a good position to negotiate w/ the wideout from Texas Tech – they really showed they didn’t need him (vs. the other way around).
Michael Crabtree had been holding out seeking more money from the 49ers, even though they were offering him fair (or above) value for the 10th pick in the draft. …
Major League Baseball‘s October classic kicks off today in fine fashion, matching up the league’s best for a memorable playoff season.
Yesterday’s 1-game playoff between the Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers was an instant (ESPN) Classic. 12-innings, something like 24 hits and 20 stranded base runners in total. Both teams were hungry, but the Twins executed in the clutch and pulled out the win to advance to meet the Yankees – baseball’s best (regular season) team.
