After seven starts, the Packers have seen enough out of Aaron Rodgers to give the quarterback a long-term extension, which runs through 2014. Continue reading on NFL.com

The memory of Brett Favre is officially history in the minds of Packers’ management w/ the signing of Aaron Rodgers as the quarterback in Green Bay through 2014. Despite the fact that the Green Bay Packers are only 4-3, Rodgers was rewarded w/ a 6 yr contract extension. Watch Rodgers’ Interview
Aaron Rodgers has thrown for over 1,600 yards and has 12 TDs in just 7 games for the Packers. Compared w/ Brett Favre’s stats this season, it would appear that Aaron is the winner to-date. Favre is simply too careless w/ the football (11 INTs), while Rodgers has the Packers competitive in nearly every game.
The Packers will face the Tennessee Titans on Sunday in a match-up that could easily leave GB at 4-4. The Titans are 7-0 and have looked strong all season w/ a strong running game and defense. Rodgers and the rest of the Packers’ players have a tough challenge ahead of them.
The Green Bay Packers are hoping that quarterback Aaron Rodgers is healthy enough to play on Sunday vs. the Atlanta Falcons. Having already shown his worth (at least a little… let the season play out) replacing Brett Favre in Green Bay, Rodgers is the Packers only hope of making the playoffs this season.
Whether Green Bay Packers starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers plays Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons at Lambeau Field will be a game-time decision. Continue reading on NFL.com
The Packers are facing a struggling Falcons team, so there is an opportunity to score another victory early in the season. Green Bay can ill afford to lose this game, so Rodgers’ status is of the utmost importance.
From a fantasy perspective, I suggest you bench him and only consider playing him if he’s guaranteed the start on Sunday. Even then, you should check your bench and determine if another fantasy QB has a better match-up.

The Green Bay Packers got a 1st look at their new starting quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, on Monday night against the Cincinnati Bengals. Rodgers was 9 of 15 for 117 yards, including 1 touchdown and 1 interception. The Packers were unable to get the win, but Aaron’s performance was good nonetheless. Sure, he could’ve thrown more accurately and/or avoided the interception, but in limited action he was able to get over 100 yds of offense and a TD.
I think that if Rodgers is able to average more than 230 yds per game and limit to 1 INT (or less) per game average, Green Bay is going to finish with a winning record. And in the NFC, that might be enough to qualify for the playoffs.
On the other side, former Packer Brett Favre is confirmed as the starting quarterback in Saturday’s match-up against the Redskins. Surely, the game is in Washington’s favor since they know Favre’s play, while he is learning a new offense w/ new teammates. Look for a few mistakes - IF -he plays more than 5-7 minutes.
