While the NBA playoffs are in full swing as the first round is coming to a close, some teams are already planning for next year, and the Houston Rockets are in that mode after they decided to part ways with Rick Adelman after four years and two straight seasons of missing the playoffs. The hunt is now on for his successor, and apparently the list is growing by the day.

In an effort to support the cause(s) in Darfur, the Rockets’ (as of this writing) Tracy McGrady will be changing his jersey number from #1 to #3.

The 2007-2008 Houston Rockets have done the unthinkable… Taking 1st place in the competitive Western Conference after 22 straight wins.

The Houston Rockets, fresh off a 12 game winning streak, will be without the services of their All-Star Center, Yao Ming, for the remainder of the season.  Yao suffered a stress fracture in his foot and will miss the rest of Houston’s basketball season.
Already sitting in the 7th playoff seed position w/ Yao, the Rockets will be hard-pressed to keep that position.  The Western Conference is already tight as can be; this latest injury will certainly help clarify the playoff positioning.  I guess it’s good to be a Denver Nugget …
